Presentation: THE DANISH VIDEO ART DATA BANK

 In 1968 Torben Soeborg established the very first video workshop in Denmark at Haslev College of Education / Haslev Lehrerhochschule.

The workshop became involved with video art in 1982. Together with the pioneer of video art in Denmark, Niels Lomholt, Torben Soeborg organised “The First Symposium of Video Art" in Denmark and as a result of that symposium the workshop got money from the Danish Ministry of Culture to publish – in 1984 – a bilingual “Catalogue of Danish Video Art / Katalog over dansk videokunst"”.

This resulted in establishing of THE DANISH VIDEO ART DATA BANK as a non-profit agency for promoting and distributing Danish video art outside Denmark. In 1996 the workshop and the Data Bank was separated. Torben Soeborg left the college and stayed with the Data Bank.

Today the Data Bank also publish a website – a Global Calendar  - with information about more than 1.900 video and media festivals, exhibitions screenings and similar activities all over the world
